1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg, separated
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon orange rind
1 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
finely chopped walnuts
candied cherries
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, pure vanilla extract, lemon juice and orange rind. Mix well, stir in flour and salt. Cover and place a refrigerator until chilled. Form into small balls. Rolling slightly beaten egg white, then in walnuts. Top with pieces of candy cherry. Bake for 20 minutes at 350° F. Makes 36 Orange Nut Cookies.
