I'm attending my 10 year old nephew's classroom tomorrow and will begin reading the Walt Morey Alaskan classic "Gentle Ben".
Since one never visits a classroom without taking treats, Layne has requested a family recipe- "Oreo/Marshmallow Treats".
Just substitute crushed Oreo Cookies ("crushed", not meaning pulverized into powder- rather, meaning each cookie broken into 3-4-5 pieces) for the Rice Krispies in the famous microwave recipe, and scoop into individual l'il mounds onto wax-paper. Sprinkle w/ mini chocolate chips while still wet. Voila!
I've never met anyone who can eat just one of these- so make many- and make them small!
