A HOT HOT Meal

We were at a friends last night returning his computer we repaired. His Mama is Thai and a fabalous cook. It was about 9 last night and she tells us we must eat before we leave. She brings in some long dark green beans from the garden and cleans them up and diced them all up. She makes two different kinds of stir fry. One with chicken and the green beans and the other with beef and hot basil. She has me over there stirring and helping and mind you I couldnt understand half of what she said lol. She serves them over jasmine rice and ground up thai chilis that had been dried crumbled over top. That was one hot meal!
About an hour before that she comes back there with a serving bowl full of diced watermelon for me to eat lol. I made it about half way through that one. Her stir fry was so hot I was sweating. She did however clear up my allergies lol. My siuses were torched from the inside lol.

My husband who claims to hate green beans ate the ones she prepared in the stir fry. Seems he can eat them as long as they are masked by other strong flavors. I will remember that.

Janie alot of people who supposedly "Hate" certain veggies will eat them heartily when cooked very little as in stir-fry, the crispness of the veggie remains and the flavors are much better, so much is lost in boiling our veggies too much....often times a few seconds in a steamer or stir-frying veggies will help them to reatain crispness and flavor!!! My little grandchild learned to love green beans only after dining at a Chinese Restaurant where they had stri-fry cooked them in a nice garlicy p-nut oil!!! Yumm yummy!!!!

Hey HotStuff!!! How ya fellin' today??? Still got the sweats?

If I ate that I'd be in a body bag today!

You are brave!!!

I came home and took and extra dose of my stomach pills and some Maalox advanced lol. Lets just say after eating that Jon was not pleasant to sleep with.

I am gonna try him on some stir fry veggies on him now. When he tries to not eat them Im gonna tell him he ate hers so dig in.

Janie just look how far he's come. First you made a hit with him with the fried veggies, now it'll be stir-fried, then steamed. Next thing you know he will be a veggie coniseur!!! He's gonna be a healthy food fanatic before you know it.

By the way does he like Pumpkin pie? How about sweet potatoes, how about carotts? All these are so good and easy to incorporate into other dishes! Sweet Potatoe souflet is so good my children eat it like it was a desert. There are alot of the breads you mention baking like zuccini, does Jon like those as well?

He likes pumpkin cookies but he wont eat pumpkin pie. Says he doesnt like the texture.
I hide carrot, celery and onion in a lot of stuff he eats as long as it is minced up pretty fine. He likes zucchini bread really well and he likes fried zucchini. Now Mr. Picky is gonna get some green beans thrown his way along with the rest.

Won't be long until janie will be doing extra special fancy things w/ veggies like skewering pork & beans, and carefully grilling kernels of corn on the weber to create the beautiful cross-hatch marks on each side of the kernels! Hee-Hee! All kiddin' aside- these boys are darned lucky to have ya, dear janie. You show them a lot of love & nurtuting thru your wonderful cooking... :)
