Alrighty... another Valentine's Day thread...

So... when you're home on a cozy night w/ your honey and preparing a decadent meal- what MUSIC do you choose to set the mood?

Me?

Right now I'm playin' "Ella For Lovers" a lot. Even though I'm home alone, Ella's velvety voice and tender 40's ballads make me feel all romantic!

I also love Johnny Mathis, Roberta Flack, Sade, almost anything romantic by Dolly/Reba, and almost any love song written by Diane Warren (like: Celine's "Because You Loved Me", Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart", Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing", etc...)
 
We also love Ella Fitzgerald and all that Jazz. Louis, Frank, Billy, Blossom Dearie etc. Another one we like is Nora Jones.
 
My fav's are the Righteous Brothers especially "You are my heart and my souls inspiration"!

Except I dated this one guy when I was a teenager, I was totally in-love with and he constantly played that song "Cathy's Clown" and I think he listened to it so much he began believing it, cause we never got to the 1st kiss:D GOSH...how wierd! And we dated for months and were so compatible and had so much fun together......so you best teach your children not to take all that music so literally or they might loose out on the love of their life!!! hee-hee; cool "moral of the story" huh!
 
Nickelback's Dark Horse CD has a couple nice ballads on it we like really well right now.
Gotta Be Somebody and I'd Come For You. Jon is really good at poetry. My fav Valentines present ever is the poem he wrote me a few years ago. We have a local station on the tv where they show adds from businesses and you can pay to have yours shown. For audio they play the local radio station but the adds just play along side. He had the poem he wrote me shown for three days. He had snuck and had his Mom and her hubby take him there to suprise me. I recorded it on a video tape lol.

Hey guys here are a few pics from my nieces V-Day party at school. They were so cute I hope no one minds my sharing them. Catie never passes up on a cookie lol. She is so much fun. She is old enough now where you can chase her and romp.

She was so happy. Her and her best friend had worn the exact same tshirt by accident.
We had picked her out this lovely pink shirt with roses on it that was all fancy but she wouldnt wear it. She said they were gonna paint and she was afraid she would get some thing on it.

I think they are pretty cute kids but Im kinda bias where those two are concerned. Especially when Evelyn calls me her Naney lol.
 
The baby has finally gotten old enough to remember me. I only see them once every few months. I chase her growling and she runs off squealing then she will stop and turn and chase me doing this baby growl. It is hilarious.
 
janie- isn't being an aunt/uncle the best? I wanted kids forever, but that's likely not gonna happen (don't even really have that interest anymore now that I'm into my 40's...). But I feel SO fortunate to be able to be an uncle to two wonderful kids... Hailley & Layne impact me in wonderful ways every day of my life...
 
Cute pictures Janie....children can be so adorable....I'm so blessed to be a Mom.

Kev...I Love Etta James....and Otis Redding...so many others too. Hubby and I met on Valentine's day 3 yrs ago. So this day is special to us.
 
Kevin you would make a wonderful Dad. I raised my younger sis so I got the whole kid thing out of my system. I loath going to the doctor so getting pregnant was never on my to do list lol. Jon has had a vasectomy since he never wanted kids either. I love visiting with my sis's kids. I feed them sugar and play with them then they keep her awake three hours past their regular bedtime til it wears off lol.

My husband has been having his own little form of pms for the past few days.
Romance has not been in the air here. That old VD message is on a video tape over on the bookshelf somewhere.
