Another Poker Night

Well friends, Friday was my weekly Poker Night. My Buds came over all holiday-worn, weary and bedraggled, but we still had a blast, and we had the usual fire-side feed before-hand. Elsie & Pearl brought a Ruben Dip in a mini crock-pot made w/ cream soup, swiss cheese, corned beef and kraut- used rye toast-points as "scoopers". YUM! Brook brought hot wings. Turner & Twila-Faye brought a Frito-Pie. Minot brought clam dip. Mark brought Spinach/artichoke dip. And I made stuffed muffelettas and oatmeal/chocolate-chunk cookies, and I supplied the Patty Lovelss music! Don't know what got me so in the mood for her music, but I loaded only HER cd's into the 6-disc changer and after hearing nothing but HER voice for hours, Twila-Faye threw down her cards (she was losing, so she was already aggrivated, anyway!) and said- "Dammit, Kevin- did Patty DIE or something?" Ha! I luaghed for ten minutes at her! :)

I never was good at playing card games. My mind can grasp a lot of things, but can't get around that. Which is odd because most of my relatives are gambling junkies. I think my Mom has a table named after her in Foxwoods.

I was raised playing spades and canasta- my family are real cards-players, Rick. I'm terrible at poker, but to be friends w/ these folks one MUST at least fake loving the game! :) we actually all have a blast, together!

anyone for Old Maid, Hearts, Go fish??????? LOL

I'm not much of a card player - UNO is about it for me.

I had taught my little sister to play poker before she started kindergarten. She is still a little card shark lol.

Oh my gosh Kevin, ya just had to go mention a Muffaletta!!! I love them, cards I love them too, and all the foods ya' all had sounded danged delicious! But Muffaletta my goodness I have not had one in a long long time!

I enjoy UNO too, mama! Let's make a couple muffelettas (to satisfy Cathy's craving!) and invite the whole gang over for an UNO TOURNAMENT! :)

Hope you like "cut-throat" UNO - it gets really vicious! But it is a lot of fun!

Muffaletto's sound good and I'll bring a bunch of goodies!

We play the UNO that has the machine that shoots the cards out at you... forget what it's called but it produces some mild violence in my family members... Hee-Hee! :)
