That looks way too delicious and Congrats, Janie, Better than the first one I ever made ~ mine was flatter with all the filling oozed out and hardening all around it ~ I've since got better but that 1st one ~ a doozie, flop, a joke, you name it, it'll fit. hahahahaha

Where's the recipe?????? Pleaaaaaaaaassssseeeeee
:)

Mama I got some yummy tea a few days ago. It is sugar cookie flavored. For the cake I used this recipe. But I used a different filling

Decadent Chocolate Jelly Roll

4 large eggs, room temperature
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
icing sugar (confectioner's)

Filling
chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella)
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup icing sugar
1/4 cup cocoa

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray a jelly roll pan with Pam.
Line it with wax paper and again spray with Pam.
Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs and vanilla for at least 2 minutes until frothy.
Add the sugar in 3 additions (1/4 of a cup at a time) and beat for at least 5 minutes until thick and cream coloured.
Sift in the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Beat on low until all is incorporated into the egg mixture, but do not over beat.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Spread so that it is level and even.
Bake for 13 minutes and check with a toothpick for doneness.
While cake is baking, sift icing sugar heavily over a clean, cotton tea towel.

Remove cake from the oven and invert carefully onto tea towel.
Gently remove the wax paper.
From the short end, roll the cake up together with the towel and place to cool completely on an elevated cooling rack.
To prepare the filling: Sift the cocoa and icing sugar into the whipping cream and beat until stiff and spreadable.
Unroll the cake.
First spread with a layer of hazel nut spread, then with the whipped cream mixture.
Roll up again without the towel and refrigerate.

This is the filling I used.
Easy Bavarian Cream Recipe

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 (3 1/2 ounce) packages instant pudding mix
3/4 cup milk
12 ounces Cool Whip, thawed

Mix together cream cheese and dry pudding mix. Slow beat in milk. Fold in Cool Whip.

I used vanilla instant pudding and instead of milk I used eggnog. It was pretty dang yummy. I dusted powdered sugar all over the top. My hubby loved it.

Janie,

I think I'll stick with the recipe you used for the filling ~ I like the Idea of using eggnog instead of milk ~ My honey loves eggnog so..... I think I'll make this AFTER Thanksgiving

Thank you for the recipe and looking at the picture and the recipe I only have one more question~

Yes, mine too~ plus the image of any Clinton is enough to turn my stomach, ruin my health, cause sleep deprivation, and blue dresses everywhere cringe.

Janie, I am going to make this on Sunday~ I figured all the pies and desserts from Thanksgiving will be gone by then ~ So yours is the one ~ special one~ I'll make on Sunday

Cute puppy picture, Janie ~ put a :) on my face!!

I think Cathy is honest~ I'm telling you, I had nightmares thinking another clinton might be president~ don't get me wrong~ I think a woman President is Ideal, just not a "clinton"

Im glad your gonna give the cake a try. I made honey bbq chicken wings yesterday with it. Jon and I had leftover chicken wings and some of the cake for breakfast lol. Our motto is never let your tummy know what time it is lol.

I put my butterball in its brine and the chops in their marinade today. I boiled the eggs for my devil eggs. Peeled them and stowed them in the fridge with the 3 bean salad. I made a batch of peanut butter fudge which is cooling. I will probably make the cupcakes tomorrow and go ahead and take them and the fudge along with the 3 bean salad and the boiled eggs to my FIL's tomorrow. I have a cute crystal deviled egg dish but it is easier to put the eggs together at his house instead of trying to haul them on the dish in the car. If you try and cover it with plastic it sticks to the eggs and makes a mess so Jon ends up holding them on his lap and I freak out afraid the heater is gonna blow something on them.
They all like that velvetta mac and cheese. I have a couple boxes of it Ill make at his Dads. Much easier than trying to make it here and pack it up.
That should just leave Jon and I taking the turkey, gravy and porkchops on Thur. Oh yeah I made some cranberry sauce I saw the Neely's do on the FN. One can of cranberry jelly with the juice and zest of one orange heated. It smelled really good. I have it in the fridge. I dont care for cranberrys but the others do.

Talk about funny. The turkey was so heavy in its brine I had to get Jon to put it in the bottom of the fridge for me. Should have seen me and the blindman lol. I was like left..right..forward lol. The stockpot was filled all the way to the rim almost with the turkey and brine. He only spilled a little.

If you were selling tickets to view the both of you take the turkey out of the brine I would have bought a few :)

I don't have the time to brine, too, my family is not open to new things ~ so just the turkey ~ stuffed and with sliced oranges and onions on top and the usual salt, pepper, and celery salt spicing my turkey ~ moist and tasty but oh so the usual. Oh well if they like it.

I am making deviled eggs, my oldest sister is extremely known for her delicious deviled eggs, but since she has satan's mother for a mother n law she'll be unable to join us again this year ~ has to entertain the immortal's mother because she demands it ~ and the reason I said that~ here is an example of the underword's mother: She made her son's favorite pie and brought it to my sister's house ~ 1 slice~ just for Norm ~ not my sister or her grandson but only her son, my sister's husband ~ and too when they bought their new house 13 yrs ago~ she would bring her friends over and tour my sister's house always early in the morning knowing my sister is a late sleeper ~ imagine waking up and seeing generic aged strangers staring at you when you wake up!!! Oh, and one more~ the day of my father's memorial while we gathered at my sister's house, she talked about her life AND if someone had the audacity to reminisce about my father (who we buried that morning) she actually got so mad she slammed her bony hand on the table and actually said "he's gone, get over it, I'm alive" Believe that....

How did I stray from your post.... oh yeah, my oldest sister makes great deviled eggs, will miss them ~

Your sis's mother in law sounds like mine. Her and her second hubby do their own thing on Thanksgiving though. They will do a dinner for Christmas at sometime. I always let her and Jon work it out as long as it doesnt happen on the day Jons Dad wants to do his.
