BEEFBURGERS HAWAIIAN
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic -- minced
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple -- drained
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 slices bacon
Combine first 5 ingredients in a small mixing bowl; blend well. Set mixture aside.
Combine ground beef, pineapple, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper in a bowl. Shape into 6 patties. Wrap bacon around edge of each patty, and secure with a wooden pick. Place patties in a shallow 2-quart dish. Pour soy sauce mixture over patties; cover and marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes.
Place patties on broiler rack; spoon marinade over meat. Broil 5 inches from heat 12 minutes, turning once. Remove picks. Yield: 6 servings.
