Boxwood Basil

Has anyone ever tried Boxwood Basil? Walmart had some lovely little plants of it yesterday so I picked up two. I potted them together in a large pot on the balcony. The kinda of look like little bonsai trees but more delicate.
I had pretty much decided to not put any pots on the balcony this year but the BB was so cute I couldnt resist them.

So many of my herbs in the garden are not up. They got way to much rain.
I weeded them a few days ago and they are up but sparse. My chives didnt come up at all but a few clumps of them I put out last year have come up. Strange lol.
I have genovese, sweet and purple basil, sage, thyme, oregano, mint, dill, rosemary and italian parsley. I have tons of fennel coming up which will be great if it makes it. It seems like every single day it is raining. We are getting rain today, tomorrow then a break for a day and more rain.

Hope everyone else is having better luck with the gardens.

All I have is some thyme in a pot which has been doing great for several years and six tomato plants. All are doing well now that I've found a spot with more sun for my tomatoes.

I got a second pot all fixed up yesterday with a little thyme and sage in it. Im not going to do anymore on the balcony than those two pots.

We have had some drama here with new neighbors putting tons of junk on the balcony on front of their apartment. They have even tried putting junk downstairs by the cars.

The landlord tells me I am to keep it down to two small pots but these people have half a dozen plants another half dozen flowers and tomato plants and roses. They have bird feeders, hummingbird feeders and assorted plants hanging from the balcony in crocheted holders and even coffee cans. They have two chairs and a table out there. Jon complained to the landlord about the stuff they put downstairs and he was supposed to put a memo on everyones door regarding what was allowed on the balcony but we never got one and they still have all of their stuff out there. I have mentioned to the wife there that we are not supposed to have more than two pots and when you take a chair out there your supposed to bring it back in when you come in. The balcony runs around the entire length of the building and it is not wide enough for that much stuff. They always told me it is a fire violation to have the balcony blocked but the landlord seems to lack the nerve to speak up since his more mouthy partner retired. Im just waiting for these people to stick a grill out there. I honestly dont know how the guy who lives in the back gets past all of their stuff to get to his place.

Maybe an anonymous call to the city code enforcement office, or fire marshall will get some action

Jon was just suggesting that same thing yesterday.
I honestly dont care about how much junk they put in front of their door. I dont have to get past their door to get to my apartment. When they put junk in the common walk ways I have to go by to get to the car then I mind. Especially with Jon being totally blind. They know Jon cannot see. I wonder if it never crossed their mind it may not be a good idea to put stuff in his path or if they just always assume Im gonna be with him.

Spittle Bugs have taken up residence in my father in laws garden.
They are all over two of my rosemary bushes and the potatoes.
Had no idea what it was til I looked them up online. He is going to get some spray for them tomorrow.
