BROWN SUGAR
SHORTBREAD COOKIES
1 c. softened butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 ¼ c. sifted flour
Cream butter & brown sugar. Slowly mix in flour until the mixture barely holds together. Form into small balls & place on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten cookies with fork tines. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Cookies should be crispy on the outside edges and soft & chewy in the middle.
**the amount of flour is approximate. Add slowly to be sure not dough is not too dry. If too sticky, add more flour until dough barely holds together.
