CHOCOLATE FRIED PIES

1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cooking oil for shallow-fat frying
Sifted powdered sugar

In a saucepan combine granulated sugar, flour, and cocoa powder. Stir in the 1/2 cup milk and butter. Cook and stir until bubbly. Cook 1 minute more. Stir in vanilla. Cool.

For crust I use can biscuit (5) for this. If use 10 biscuit need to double or you can use: 2 cups packaged biscuit mix and 1/3 cup milk.

Put filling in center of each circle. Fold over; press edges together with fork In skillet heat 1 inch cooking oil to 375 degrees Fry pastries until golden. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

I doubled the filling and used a 8 count can of grands home style biscuits. Jon loved these.

Count me in I can bring cold milk.
JG, that looks like another winner to me, and so easy. Yep, got it copied. CF:)

Fried Pies

Janie, made the fried pies, not as pretty as yours but sure were tasty. I will be trying again. I used sweet potato filling, just because we like sweet potatoes. CF:)
