Cook Ware

Where is the best place to buy new cook ware? Do you buy on the internet, or actually go to a store location? Opinions?

Walmart has good bakeware. I like the baking line called Baker's Secret. Also, there is this store called Corningware. They have really good pots and pans also. The website is http://www.corningware.com/ . They sale quality stuff at good prices. Check em out!

I won't buy anything unless I see what it looks like, how it feels, how durable it is, etc. I've made the mistake of ordering a few things sight unseen - never again. If I don't know the item - I won't buy it unless I see it.

I'm the same way. I want to know how well it fits and feels in my hand before I add it to my kitchen collection.

I usually go to various stores and look at the cookware, then check online to find if anyone has a better deal. We've bought cookware online in the past without problems.

I poke around for a long time looking at different products and comparing them. I like T-Fal, but the non-stick doesn't last more than 4 years. Maybe I'm picky there but I think 10 years would be better.

I have lots of odds and ends in cookware including cast iron. The cast iron cookware is solid and is in the same shape as when I bought it. But it's not non-stick, and I don't think I could cook eggs in it. It's great for soups, stews, and cooking in the oven though.

I don't have any cast iron...I'm thinking that might be an upcoming investment since it's really so versitile

medako - cast iron is so nice to have and you can do so much with it! you can use it on the stove top, the oven and even camping out. seasoning it is the worse part of it - but once you get it down - it's easy.

I make the BEST pancakes on my old cast iron griddle. It's not really ancient but is Wagner-ware and was made in the USA. I'd guess it's 30 years old, and has a nice seasoned surface that's just perfect for pancakes. One day, I'll make and write down my incredible thick pancake recipe. The pancakes are 1" thick.

I agree with mama if I can't feel it in my hands and see it with my own eyes I just don't think I could trust it. JC Penny's and Kohl's department stores carry good quality cookware, but I just bought a new refrigerator so I will have to wait to buy new cookware. I can make do with what I have, which is a hodge podge
of cast iron, tfal, caephalon, a little bit of everything at the moment.
