CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES
MAKES 1 ½ DOZEN

4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
4 squares (1 oz. each) semisweet chocolate
1/3 c. butter or margarine
8 oz. cream cheese
¼ c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar, divided
6 large eggs
3 t. vanilla extract, divided
2 T. flour
1 ½ c. semisweet chips, divided

Melt chocolate squares with 1/3 c. butter or margarine. Cool. Beat cream cheese and ¼ c. butter until creamy; gradually add ½ c. sugar, beating well. Add 2 eggs, one at a time. Stir in 1 t. vanilla. Fold in 2 T. flour and ½ c. morsels. Beat remaining 4 eggs; gradually add remaining 1 ½ c. sugar. Add melted mixture and remaining 2 t. vanilla; beat until well blended. Combine 1 c. flour, baking powder and salt; fold into chocolate batter until blended; stir in remaining 1 c. morsels. Reserve 2 c. chocolate batter; spread remaining in greased 13 X 9-inch pan. Pour cream cheese mixture over batter in pan. Top with reserved 2 c. batter; marble. Bake in preheated 325* F. oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool. Cut.

Now this one should go in the Food Nostalgia thread! :D

I was forever making marbled brownies as soon as I was old enough to turn on the oven.

mantua - why not spoon mixture into muffin tins filling half full and then spoon cream cheese filling on that and top with a covering of batter??
