Down and Dirty Steak

The history of a dirty steak is kinda vague. But I do know President Eisenhower liked his steaks cooked like this.

For those who have a weak heart go no further

I give you Rick's dirty steak

We start off by picking a spot in the driveway for a pile of lump charcoal

Light it up right on the ground

Last chance to turn back folks............................ :D

Here it is all plated up. Sorry for the darkness of the picture, my battery was too weak to trigger the flash. The steak wasn't that black at all

I made glazed carrots and stuffed potatoes on the side as well as garlic bread.

I shocked everyone with this meal tonight, and to their surprise they loved it :D

So there it is a dirty steak

Never had it done that way but you could plate one up for me. Sounds like an excellent way to get your fire hot enough to sear the outside without overcooking the center. I do like mine medium rare.

I cooked them 4 1/2 minutes on each side and that's how they came out :)

Like Primal Grill, I like to call them "Caveman Steaks" I still use the grill though, remove the rack and set the TBones right on the coals.
