Down Home With the Neelys

I liked this show ok when it first came on but I swear that Gina Neely gets on my last nerve. They make good food and her husband is ok but Im am so sick of her dancing around and shaking her behind during episodes. She constantly sings and flips her hair and shakes her behind. Someone needs to remind her she is not a high school cheerleader anymore. The way she hoots and yells during episodes sounds like she is at a high school pep rally and is annoying. She was so crazy on their Saturday episode I muted the tv til they went off. I got the recipes for the episode off the website. Someone needs to tell her to tone it down.

Janie go to the web-site for FN and post your complaints there. I doubt it will be given much consideration, but at least by doing so you will be able to vent and at least let them know your take on her antics.

I went and registered with their site just so that I could leave my opinion. I could not find a specific place to leave a complaint so I went to one of the recipes from their last episode where she lost her mind the worst and left my remarks under the reviews for the recipe.

I complained to the FN a long time ago - about her and "her man" and all that crap - it totally takes away from t show - I won't watch it anymore - I've had enough - just look at the recipes on the site and get the ones you want

CiCi Carmichael and that dip Ann B. or whatever her name is - the one with her brown food and tons of salt - I complained about them to.

I cannot believe the amounts of salt some of them use. A few of them use sensible amounts of salt but the majority of them are crazy on how much they use. Ann B always says if you think this is to much salt this is why restaurant food tastes so good is because it has been seasoned this way. My fil turns his tv onto the FN for me when we go to his place and even he notices how much salt they use. If I seasoned my food like that for either him or my husband neither of them could eat it.
A handfull of them seem to use the salt a little more sensibly but not many.

Most of the people in my Mom and Dad's family over salted their food. I remember the family reunions and my Mom and her sisters cooking up tons of dishes and they would up end that Morton salt box into the food that was on the stove. My brother comes here for dinner and I have to bring him the salt with his plate. He suffers from high blood pressure and still covers his food with salt so that it looks like snow on it. I was just as bad until I got an ulcer and couldnt eat salt for almost two years. I was used to eating my mothers cooking with tons of salt in it. Unfortunately it is very common in southern cooking.

I left my complaints on FN for what little good it will do me. I did a Google search and from what I read tons of people are fed up with Gina Neelys behavior on their show.

sorry - I ran several different restaurants - and we've had restaurants, etc. in the family - for homemade meals, of course you use salt for flavor - but not what I've seen thm do - anytime you make somhing that a customer orders - you don't use salt - the customer can do it themselves

when preparing meals for a full service restaurant that does home cooking- yes
