I may not wash my right hand for a month!!

I just had a super thrill!! My husband and I had walked across the street to one of the more posh restaurants in Hampton, located directly across the street from our house, for a bite of lunch and there was quite a bit of commotion going on. We got seated and I glanced around the dining room and found myself looking straight into the face of the man who, with any luck at all, could be our next President - Mitt Romney! He's been making campaign swings through New England today and yesterday and as luck would have it he apparently got peckish right about the time we walked into the restaurant. If he happens to win (and he's not the man I believe him to be if he can't beat the current affliction in the White House!)
the Presidency next year I can say that I actually got to shake the hand of a real, live President! Despite the fact that I can't vote! But I don't care.....
it was still a thrill. :D

Don't tell anyone, okay? You don't know if he will be a good guy or a bad guy! LOL
The sad part is - they make so many promises - but they can never keep them - the president can only do what the Senate/Congress wants. Unless of course it is Obama - all he does is play golf and goof off.

Do you suppose they ought to reinstitute the practice of beheading here that once existed in both Britain and France? Obama'd lose twice - two faces, two heads!!

Hey Mama, you'll just have to set yourself up a particular "signature" on your Southern blog - kinda like Paul Deen with her fixation on butter. In your case, simple perfection should cover all thcontingencies........................ :D

Politics is never a safe topic for here. I am not a fan of Obama or Mitt Romney.

Take it easy, Janie - I never have been one to debate politics and don't plan to begin at this late date. I did, however, admit that I can't even vote in this country...all I did was express delight in shaking the paw of a fella who may, conceivably, be even more famous in a year's time then he already is.
Just to be able to say I got to do it. No political favoritism here! I'd get a kick out of shaking hands with the late governor of California and I truly can't abide him!! :D:D

Katie I was never upset over your post. I am very tolerant of the views of others. Accepting others and their views are part of friendship. Our differences are what make us individuals and are to be appreciated.

I am very tolerant of others' views too- like Janie. But I do have my own very opinionated ideas on all matters. Politics tends to be one of those things that people just lose their minds with. I've seen more toes stepped-on in political/religious conversations than any other topic, I think. That said- I do love political discussions- but I reserve the right to turn totally ugly if someone I'm conversing with gets all goofy on me over it. :)

(For those who don't already know- anyone who's interested- I am a weird mix. Some of my views are quite conservative- usually fiscal issues. And some of my views are quite liberal- usually certain social issues. I would call myself Libertarian if I didn't find them so non-committal and wishy-washy! :) But what this means for the most part is I get to roll my eyes at both conservatives and liberals- and by the same token I tend to miff those of both persuasions, as well! The best of both worlds! What irks me most is those on both sides who think they have the right to make others' minds up for them- or who push their own ideas, while disregarding others'. We're all Americans- we all need to work hard and contribute to earn our place- and we all have- or ought to have- the very same liberties & freedoms, but it don't always work that way. I also hate big government and believe solidly in that "Give a man a fish he eats for a day- teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime" mentality... Anyway- I guess that's my way of saying how I feel on the matter while claiming not to engage in the controversy!)

they say you cannot and should not talk about politics, sex and religion - that is when things getting pretty heated - and its true

with some peopoe you can't discuss the color of the sky or the grass - I guess it's in their genes

personally - I respect everyone's point of view - and I love a good debate - as long as it doesn't turn personal

OK. I'll try one; Gee, you look as confused as a Democrate with a set of hand tools!

You have to remember that being from North Louisiana I am a Redneck and Jeff Foxworthy has made a fortune telling Redneck jokes. My daughter has bought me every book he wrote.

I used to like Jeff Foxworthy.

And I guess I still do- to some degree.

But now that Larry the Cableguy and the other two funny dudes Jeff often appears on stage with have come along- I like them even more! :)

There are actually three more. No one can remember one since Ron White (Tater Salad) and Larry the Cable guy have overshadowed him and Jeff both.

I have been watching Larry the cable guy on TV. I really don't care for some of his remarks but, I do enjoy seeing the places that he goes to and the things they do. So for me that is the educational part. There is nothing like being informed. CF:)
