...VALENTINES DAY and pretend it wasn't important to their readership, so I was EXCITED when my February MS Living arrived today chock-full of Valentines Day stuff from front cover- to back! (for the record- MS Living wasn't one of the mags that failed to mention the holiday last year, like others decided...)
From candies to flowers, gifts to recipes- travel destinations to mail-order ideas... The ROMANCE HOLIDAY was the honored order of the day!
I get that Hallmark likely invented this holiday and that some industires have totally hi-jacked it for their own selfish purposes. But golly-moses! During the otherwise dull, dreary and dismal winter months of January/February what in the world ELSE do we have to look forward to? Traditionally, January/February produces some thin, weak content in periodicals. I saw last year's contentless Feb issues to just be indicative of further slacking on their part. Soon the rest of the Feb. issues will start arriving... we'll see if they decide to give us our money's worth this year or not!
