1 C packed light brown sugar
1/4 C white syrup (like a simple syrup or Bob White's)
1 Tbl butter
1/2 C chopped walnuts
1/2 C granulated sugar
1/2 C evaporated milk (not condensed)
1 tsp maple flavoring
In medium saucepan over low heat cook sugars, syrup and milk sitrring until mixture reaches 235F or soft ball stage, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat, beat in butter, maple flavoring and nuts. Beat until looses its shine. Quickly drop onto waxed paper by teaspoonful. Cool then store in tightly covered container.
Fair warning this is a very rich recipe, very easy to eat yourself sick. One of my all time favorites.
