as far as I'm concerned - they can stick their "season's greetings" -
this is a free country and we should be able to say MERRY CHRISTMAS, or HAPPY HANNUKAH - and there is no "X" in Christmas -
someday I hope we can take our country back and live freely and happily
"under God, indivisible" and "in God we trust" is really needed in this country - and they are trying so hard to take it all away from us - don't let them take our religious holidays away
Well guys we got our big family dinner done today.
We had 14 eating this year. I cut back on making as much this year by about 1/3. There was still plenty. They went crazy for the red velvet cookie sandwiches lol.
Well it's Christmas morning and yesterday we got almost all the prep work done for today's menu. I want to wish everyone a Joyous and Blessed Christmas.
Well, it's just after 5:00AM here at work... Just thought I heard the sound of jingle bells and a sleigh whooooshing by overhead! Here's hopin' the big man in red himself is nearing your home for a little chimney-slidin'!
On Presents...
"The greatest gift is a portion of thyself." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." -Albert Einstein
"Everyone is gifted- only some people never open their package." -Anonymous
"Every gift from a friend is a wish for your happiness." -Richard Bach
One of my fav presents this year wasn't cooking-related at all. In fact it was this book- given by a dear friend who I used to watch repeats of "Masterpiece Theater" with every Monday night!
The adults in the family don't trade gifts anymore. My father in law gives everyone $50 each for Christmas and we get a couple gifts for him. We got him a coat and some socks and things he needed.
We all concentrate on things for the kids for the most part. I enjoy the family and a good meal. We don't have alot of money but Jon is very good about getting me anything I need as I need it all year. Our anniversary is New Years Day so we are saving the $100 his Dad gave us to do something special then.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! It sounds like there was a lot of good food to be had by everyone. Christmas is one of those few days I just eat anything I want and sleep it off. Dieting is for January.
