Anyone watching this season on Food Network? It comes on the same time one of my fav shows comes on another channel so I usually catch the rerun. God knows FN loves to rerun things anyway.

This year they have some real loosers. No one has a spark of anything.
They have a Mom named Michelle I think.. She is a pretty good cook but she is someone like me. Good cook yes ..cooking show host no way...not even close :rolleyes:

Eddy - Eliminated last night. A good looking guy with no prefessional training.. I think. He spent all of last nights episode rolling his eyes at the Mom Michelle because he was teamed up with her and she was just a home cook. Which is exactly what he was :rolleyes: Last night when they told him his recipe was bad he goes.. It was right out of a Paula Deen cookbook lol.
Duh they are supposed to be using there own recipes.
Bobby Flay really disliked this guy when he saw the video of him rolling his eyes.

Teddy - Has some professional training but is a weasel. I hope he gets dropped next week. He was working with the asian lady on there and tried to take complete credit for their joint dish when they told him they hated his dessert which he actually did alone. Last week he and one guy already dropped helped the Mom plate her dishes during a challenge. When the panel told her they liked her dish these two jerks start slapping themselves on the back like they had done her entire dish.

They have a healthy cooking nutritionist chef - Katie something.
Jamica Posole (sp?) who I have seen on a commercial for something else I cant put my finger on.
Teddy the weasel.
They usually always have one gay man on each season and this year it is Michael. Between complaining about his mascara running into his eyes and forgetting what he is supposed to say he is just bad.
I cant remember the rest of their names. I havent found any of them that memorable.

I totally agree with you Janie! The Mom cries constantly "geez get a life lady" and the Asian is a cry-baby as well.... is manic depression nice to watch on TV:confused: I think NOT!!!

The gay guy is at least somewhat of a character, and a happy enough and likeable enough fellow! And thank goodness is not breaking down and crying constantly!!! So far he and the black lady get my votes. The black chick is very nice and she can cook, and presents her food well! I like her personality best of all. Golly I hope that she doesn't spend any upcoming episodes crying for gosh sakes!!!!!

What is there to cry about over a stupid show like this anyway:rolleyes: Geeze these folks should get a life!!!!

I wonder where they get these people. This is the worst bunch yet.
I like the black lady the best. She has a beautiful smile and has made the best food.
The asian lady was giving the guy grief about honesty last night when she herself lied during the first challenge after her and the one guy went shopping. She said they came in under budget. Yeah they did BUT after they put back tons of things cause she was way over budget. She made the choice to use angel food cake for the dessert on the first episode but when the selection panel questioned her she stated at first it was a team decision. It wasnt..it was her choice when they didnt have some ingredients she needed to the planned dessert. When the selection panel made a remark about being able to trust her or something she admitted the dessert was her choice.
Like you Im tired of seeing super mom crying everytime I watch.
 
They are getting her for that as much as they did the little blonde last season when ever she would mention cooking school.
LAst season showed me that they already have decided before all of this starts which one they intend to win.

Yeah it must be a major sin in FN land to mention healthy eating! First of all I am not a big fan of B. Flay he is way too arrogant for the likes of me. I do not care for snobs and find him totally boorish so I would not have chosen him to be a judge to begin with, it is just adding to his already over-inflated ego. So that I have only caught this show a few time and will not follow it loyally!

The biggest kick I get is to carch Iron Chef and see Flay loose out to the challenger> Hardeeharharhar hoorah!!!!!!
 
Yeah he was all over that guy about chivalry in the kitchen. I was like that is so funny coming from him lol. He may not be BUT he comes across as being arrogant as heck.
 
That recipe that the Eddy guy used is on page 163 of Paula Deen's The Lady & Son's, Too Cookbook. It was her Watermelon Salad recipe. I have the book.
The faces of the selection panel when they realized they had been made to look stupid on two points.
He was using another persons recipe and they are all supposed to use their own stuff. They had all three told him how horrible they thought his recipe was and come to find out it was their own Paula's Deens lol.

That is way too funny!!! I really didn't catch that part, how funny!!! When I watch I only concentrate on the show very little, I am always doing other things as well, I never just sit and totally watch what is on, I think I was painting while it was on and I pay more attention to my art work than the TV!;)
 
I havent paid as much attention to this lot of loosers as I have in past seasons.
Last season really showed they had already chosen McCargo to be the winner all along. He messed up challenges but they still kept him and let others who were better go. It seems to have worked out since he is on his second season. I just dont care for him. Im getting tired of the FN. It is all the same old same old. It is a worthless channel at night especially.
 
I like some FN but almost exclusively watch the HGTV channel, and History, Discovery, Animal Planet, and love movies so I see alot of on demand movies! I dislike drama, soap operas, hate shows like this crap they are now touting called Jon & Kate Makes 8, have never seen it nor will I ever watch that, it doesn't appeal to me at all!

I cannot stand that Jon and Kate. My younger sister loves her but I cannot stand that Kate person. She seems like a control obsessed harpie to me. I have seem previews and she is always talking down to her husband. Those poor kids ..someone needs to step in there about child labor or something. Cameras in their faces all of the time. Mom and Dad are to into the $$ to ever stop now. TLC used to be a good channel ages ago.
 
Is Michael Chiararello's show from Napa Valley still on? I haven't regularly watched FN in ages- but I find I miss his show the most. I really liked his casual cooking style, his calm, comfy, laid-back manner- not to mention his classic but unfussy handsome looks! (He also has an AWESOME kitchen!) I have no idea whom he is, I looked at the covers of the cookbooks you listed and I just do not know him at all Sorry Kev:( Guess I never caught any of his shows on the FN. I wonder if he got axed:confused:
 
Yeah- M. C. is inspiring, homey yet creative- and elegant in his style... but still casual and not at all over-the-top.

John & Kate? Many in my dept. at work love that show. But I was raised in a dysfunctional household and I've never considered peeking-in on someone else's whacko dysfunction entertainment at all! :)
