So, Sister Chatty, is your new avatar one of your own?

Y'all probably don't know this (I didn't until this past weekend), but Cathy is a really good watercolorist.

As nice as her new avatar is, however, it's not as good as the still life she gifted me with. A basket of tomatoes on a rustic table out in a garden.

What makes it better? It's mine!

And Brook I hope that you'll enjoy it always in memory of our 1st meeting!
And with any luck the 1st of many more to come I hope :) And Brook I am keeping my fingers crossed on that!!!

In light of that, Cathy, you might like to know that there will be an heirlooms seed swap & meet & greet the first Saturday in October at the Sustainable Mountain Agriculture Center.

That's where AHSC used to hold it's conferences before it was disbanded. Several former members had petitioned Bill to hold a less formal, one-day meeting so heirlooms enthusiasts from Appalachia could still get together in the fall.

SMAC is located in Berea, which is the town between Mt Vernon and Richmond.

Oh how you do tempt me Brook. I know exactly where Berea is my Brother went over a mountainside cliff there and his semi-tractor was hanging there for the longest before they finally got it up. The thoroughbreds he was hauling lost a few teeth, but other than that he was OK!

I will have to see if we could possibly squeeze in another trip up that way come Sept!

October? We'll see is the best I can do on that month! Too close to like a 100 b'days in our family $$$$$ may not allow it. But I won't give up that easily.........

Cathy...my daughter is a artist in the making....she has been in the Art Honor Society at school for two years and when she graduates High School in May 2009 she wants to go to college and become a Graphic Designer. She also is very interested in photography and loves to play around with the pictures she takes .

Thai is awesome Francie, I know she will do well as long as she is following her love and desire! Graphic Designers do very well. I do my art for fun, but had no art classes past Elem. school how neat that she was able to continue with art on into H.S.! And an Art Honor Society student, I know you're proud of her!!!
