Pizza For Dinner

a friend of mine uses this one -

1 package of rapid rise yeast
1 TBS sugar
1/2 cup warm water + 1 cup warm water
6 cups flour

empty yeast packet in a bowl, add sugar and 1/2 cup warm water. Let the yeast set for about 5-10 minutes. It will get bubbly. Add remaining water and add the flour 1 cup at a time to incorporate the flour. start kneading the dough for about 5 minutes. use a dough hook on a mixer if you have one. oil a bowl and set the dough in. cover with saran and let sit in a warm place till it doubles in size. punch it down and roll out onto a cookie sheet. Use your favorite sauce and toppings. cook at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes.

Comments:
The water amount is flexable. sometimes you need more sometimes it's too much. It depends on the weather actually. This dough is so good and can be used to make all kinds of dishes, pepperoni rolls, stromboli, calzones the uses are endless. It would even be good just as bread.

Here is the recipe I use. I have even left out the garlic and fried the dough up for doughnuts dusted with powdered sugar and its great.

Garlic Lover's Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine

INGREDIENTS:
6 fluid ounces lukewarm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

DIRECTIONS:
1.Place the ingredients into the pan of a bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Close the lid, select the Dough cycle, and press Start.
2.When the machine signals the end of the cycle, remove the dough and knead into a tight ball on a lightly floured surface. Let rest for about 15 minutes.
3.Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Stretch the dough out to fit your desired pizza pan. Let rise for about 20 minutes for a thicker crust.
4.Top with sauce, cheese and desired pizza toppings. Bake for 10 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the crust is lightly browned on the bottom when you lift up to take a peek.
