Syrian food

Not sure about tonight, maybe stew. But last night the wife cook a wonderful Syrian meal. Rolled grape leaves, kibby fried and baked.
Shish-barak (a meat filled dumpling in yogurt sauce) Yeah, she made the yogurt to. Also rice with vermicelli, hummus, baba ganoush (same as hummus but with egg plant) Tabbouleh salad, lots of olives all with homemade flat bread. Nothing but nice, I feel loved for sure. CF:)

My wife is not nearly as daring as yours. If anything out of the ordinary gets prepared it would not only be by me but only eaten by me.

JP, my wife being Syrian helps a lot. But she does cook other things like super good Mexican and American food. CF:)

My wife cooks great American and likes Mexican but that is as daring as she gets. My daughter and I wanted to try a Greek-Lebonese restuarant once and got totally outvoted by a majority of one. She thinks the same of Chinese which I love but can't have anymore because of my diet.

JP, I grew up in Southeast Texas, so my taste for food was very limited. Now it was good food, but I never knew that there was so much out there to eat.
But after leaving home and traveling all over I found out that the world is full of good things to eat. I do like to try new things. Here is a link to my wife making the Syrian flat bread. Thought it might be of interest. CF:)

Darn. That looks good. I'll bet very few people have a pan like the one she was stretching it over.

BTW CF as a kid I lived in Beaumont until I was in the 8th grade when we moved to Louisiana.

JP, wasn't too far from you growing up. Hardin and Liberty co. Trinity river bottom, way back in the woods. I also was in Beaumont for a short time. CF:)
The bread is being stretched over a pillow, the pan is a wok with the handles bent up. Got it on the gas grill upside down.
