Great pics, janie!

I used to LOVE dressing-up to go trick o treating as a yungin'!

Who remembers their favorite costume ever?

I think mine was about the only store-bought one I ever used- it was "Casper the Friendly Ghost". It was nothing special at all, but since all my others each year were homemade ones thrown together with found objects and stuff laying around the house- this store-bought mask and long cape felt different to me.

Happy Halloween, everyone! winks- k.

Cute! Ours is tonight. I have my candy ready and I'm looking forward to seeing all the costumes.

We always made our costumes. I liked doing it and still do. I did pipi long stockings one year. I loved my pigtails with coat hangers strung through to make them stand straight out.

Gawd- do kids still read Pippi Longstockings? I loved her tales! Also- all the books by Beverly Cleary- 'Henry Huggins', 'Beezus and Ramona', 'Ribsy', 'The Mouse and the Motorcycle', etc. Also read all the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Mysteries, all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and all the horse stories by Margurite Henry.

Well probably not but 30 years ago when I was out trick or treating they did.

My oh my how cute they are Janie!!! You all be safe tonight & have FUN!!!

My little one makes a beautiful angel and she dressed up in her costume for school today!

I can not remember my favorite costume, but I remember my oldest son won a costume contest one year when I fixed him up to look like a scarecrow:) He looked so authentic, and it had to itch wearing all the burlap and hay sticking out, but he never complained once!!! When the contset started he stood exactly as you would see a scarecrow out in the field:D The kids had a ball that night, it was a huge Halloween celebration at our church and attended by one & all, St. Patrick's was famous for their annual Halloween festivities!

Now who said we couldn't dress up for halloween even though we are adults!

Can you imagine the fun we would all have????

LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!

(Mama wonders if the Keystone Kops would have to break up the party???)

Awww ....They are adorable Janie ! Mama you are right...never too old to have fun ! Hubby and I have costumes....we are doing the Monsters theme...We are having neices and nephews over for a family get together tonight ...and going to have a hayride with some spooky gobblings along the way...

They had a really good time. It got so cold. By the time we were gone it was like 40 degrees outside and still dropping. They had heavy clothes on under their costumes.
I took hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookies and bananas in my bag and by the time they were done I was cleaned out. They appreciated the hot chocolate the most lol.
We went to my FIL after for their indoor picnic. They had ham and cheese sandwiches on buttermilk bread I made. I also made cupcakes & chocolate chip cookies. I made fruit dip and took along seedless grapes, pineapple, bananas and apples. I got Pringles and Gardettos snack mix. I took a jar of my homemade pickles and some Italian pickled peppers. I got soda pop for them to drink. They liked the fruit dip the best lol. I used a 7oz jar of marshmallow cream mixed with 8oz cream cheese and 1t vanilla.

What makes you think I wouldn't! My favorite halloween costumes have been ones I put together as an adult. Tonight I'm going to go as little red riding hood. I have a great red cape and a basket that I'm going to my stuffed wolfman into.:D
