Dear former co-workers sent a couple of "hot" new music cd's in their Christmas cards, this week!
First, Jen & Kurt sent me Susan's Boyle's cd. I loved her appearances on Britain's Got Talent and LOVED the whole "ugly duckling/singing swan" thang. The cd is pretty good- I can't say that it's anything I would listen to often- but it is pleasant and I greatly admire her guts, and wish her huge success- fer shure!
Second, Carie & John sent me Dolly's new LIVE IN LONDON Concert cd/dvd combo! I've been a Dolly fiend since I was a kid and this does not disappoint! The 90-minute concert is fun and flashy w/ some old Dolly standards- as well as some newer stuff. And of course the cd is basically the audio of the concert. One fun aspect to the packaging of the disc-combo is the clothing-trunk design of it. One opens up the tri-fold case and inside it's made to resemble an old clothing trunk containing Dolly's folded glittery, sequined stage outfits, several pairs of her 5" stilettos, and lotsa jewlery, etc. Kinda fun! There's also a bonus dvd that I have yet to watch- it's a bus tour of Dolly guiding the viewers around famous London sites. I'll have to try and make time to give that a watch to see how it is, too!
***For anyone who's interested- here's a link you can click to access a music video that's taken from Dolly's concert dvd (her iconic "I Will Always Love You"):

Are any of you asking Santa for any cd's or dvd's this Christmas?
