VEPROVA PECENE
Roast Pork Loin
2 lb. end of pork loin
Salt to taste
1/ t. carawy seeds
1 1/3 c. water
Sprinkle meat with salt and caraway seeds. Place in pan; add 1/3 c. water. Roast 325* F. for 1 1/2 to 2 hours Basting often and adding water as it evaporates. Serve with Dumpings and Sauteed Sauerkraut or Sauteed Cabbage.
DUSENE KYSELE ZELI
Sauteed Sauerkraut
1 med. onion, chopped
1/4 c. lard
1 lb. sauerkraut
1/2 t. caraway seeds
2 T. flour
1 t. sugar
Salt to taste
1/2 c. white wine or water
Brown onion in lard; add sauerkraut and carawy seeds, and saute until tender (30 to 45 minutes). Dust with flour, sugar and salt. Stir in wine or water ans simmer for 5 minutes.
