What is the most unusual food

that you have ever eaten or tasted? Did you like it?

I had a neighbor give me a pigs foot once, it tasted a little like a hotdog and I was not real fond of it nor did I dislike it! I just never thought it would be a terrifically nutritional food so I would never make a habit of eating it! I figured if I ate a hotdog I would be just about as good off as eating that thar pigs foot, and alot less trouble and less cooking time too!

You definitely had the foot in your mouth.

Most unusual food(s) I've had are cat, dog, rattlesnake and monkey. All tasted good but monkey was my favorite (as a kabob on a stick). This was in Asia, not the US of course.

When I was a kid in November we used to go to Grampa's and all the uncles would butcher 3-5 hogs. One of the first things they did was cut-off the tails, put them all on a stick (like a hot dog) and hand the sticks to us yungin's. We held the tails over the fire to burn-off the hair, then continue roasting it until it was golden-brown, then we ate the crisp skin and meat off the bone!

I don't know if this really counts or not Cathy- but it is a l'il weird... (okay- A LOT weird!)

When I was a boy my Mom used to make tacos using the boxed Ortega taco kit that came with a dozen or so hard shells, a seasoning packet for meat, and a couple packets of taco sauce.

The seasoning packet for the ground beef produced taco meat that was SO delicious. I used to spoon a portion of cottage cheese onto my plate- and hold the taco directly over the mound of cot. cheese and squeeze my taco to force orange grease (flavored from the seasoning packet, of course) to drip onto it, then eat it. For some whacko reason I loved my cottage cheese flvored w/ this flavorful grease! Strange, huh?

How tasty those Ortega pkt.'s of seasoning made our taco meat!!! I could see how you enjoyed that Kev! How were the roasted pork tails?

CanMan I do not imagine I could knowingly eat any of those things. How interesting that you enjoyed the monkey! Did you ever find yourself getting urges to start swinging thru the trees? hee-hee

hey - I had a mystery meat sub one day - sure didn't taste like the roast beast we had ordered - it was mystery meat - and I don't even think I wanna know what it really was -

unusual foods to me are ordering a rat-burger at McD's (quarter pounders) - God only knows what is in those "all-meat" patties that they fry in that sludge they get from the oil change joints that recycle the grease from changing your oil...............

My Mom used to love pickled pigs feet. They sell them at the grocery stores here.
I have eaten pickled ham hocks but they can keep the feet lol.
Im not much on trying unusual food. I have the weakest stomach on the planet.

A very strange fruit was growing on a tree in our front yard when I was a little girl called Sapodilla Tree the fruit was very strange tasting like nothing I have ever tasted, it was gritty in texture like chewing something laced with sand, it was soft meated and I hated the stuff. My Dad and baby sister would sit and indulge in the stuff liking what they tatsed! I always thought they were wierd;) I did a Wickipedia search on it and sure enough it is there for anyone interested.
