Recipe: Beef Cubes & Beer

- 5 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 1/4 cup canola or olive oil
- 2 lb lean boneless chuck, cut in 1" cubes
- 6 medium onions, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp thyme
- 1 tbsp parsley flakes
- 12 oz beer
- Preheat oven to 325°.
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge meat in flour.
- Heat oil in skillet.
- Brown meat on all sides
- Add onion and garlic. Cook until onions brown slightly.
- Put meat mixture, bay leaf, thyme, and parsley in casserole. Pour beer over top.
- Cover and bake at 325° for 2-3 hours or until tender.
Serve with hot, boiled potatoes or poppy seed noodles.
