Caramel Corn

• 1 cup butter or margarine
• 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
• 1/2 cup white Karo corn syrup
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 5 quarts popped corn

To make Caramel Corn

1. Preheat oven to 250° F
2. Combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt in saucepan.
3. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
4. Boil until firm (crisp) ball stage (test in cold water).
5. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
6. Pour over popcorn in a large roasting pan.
7. Bake in oven for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8. Remove and spread on cookie sheets to cool.
