Another thing about the new format that has me frustrated and baffled...

I'm trying to search for a recipe I know I posted here at least a couple years back.

It's for Double Musky Inn Cheesecake.

Used to, I'd click our wonderful "search" option and simply type in "Double Musky Inn Cheesecake" and up would come ONE thread w/ my post. Simple, fast and easy.

Tried this time using the new search engine at the top of the page and up pops dozens of threads- NONE of which contains my post form a couple years back.

What's THAT all about?

Maybe the new search is matching each word separately, so search for less specific items will bring up less matches. I searched for musky cheesecake and found it in the middle of the post as Chilefarmer did, and there was only one other match.
 
Sorry friends...

I'm finding I'm here less and less.

Trouble is I'm just finding the new format too clumsy and cumbersome to use.

Call me dense, but...

Every time I log-on I find threads that were started days ago that I didn't see when here yesterday, the day before- or days ago.

Everytime I log-on it seems I discover yet another way to find discussions- discussions that in some cases have been going on for days- or longer, even- that I'm seeing for the very first time.

I like to have one fool-proof option of seeing it ALL at a single glance. Not a house-full of doors and windows to open and discover... dozens of nooks & crannies to happen on to, open, walk inside of, etc.

I don't devote a lot of time to playing online. I need to visit a site and in mere moments have a plan about what I'm going to invlove myself in and how I will interact. I don't visit a site like this for a place to peruse and spend hours delving into for discovery after discovery. Not knocking folks who perfer that method- it's just that that ain't me.

SP isn't the easy, simple place for me anymore that it once was.

I care for many folks here- and haven't been here much for a few weeks- and just kinda felt the need to explain my absence.

Love ya'll... and I'll keep coming back as time permits. But once SP was in my top two FAV places to check out EVERY DAY. But not so much anymore.
 
I'm very sorry to hear that Kevin - I truly am - it has helped to get rid of the spammers - there is more content - I find that after logging in I just go straight to new posts then I check the home page - there is a bit more here - I wish it was more positive for you.
Please don't leave us - we miss you when you aren't here.
 
Not leaving for good, mama... it's just that it isn't as user-friendly and easily-maneuverable anymore. For me anyway.

I come here and look and look and look... and never leave feeling confident that I've seen all of what's current. I come back next day and find several things I should have seen yesterday, but did not.

I don't feel like there's one quick-glance place to check-out and catch-up on all at, like I used to.

Maybe if I just came here and totally spent a few hours at one sitting, and literally clicked on absolutely everything- every tab, every post, every nook & cranny, etc. I'd better see the big picture and be able to sort it all out better. But one didn't need to go to such trouble like that, before.

I'll be back fer shure... not gone forever! :)
 
Mama, I feel the same way. I have so enjoyed everyone here. And have learned so much. And hope to learn more.
Kevin, don't leave. Yeah, I agree the forum is kinda different than most, but is much better without the spammers. There are a few key points that I check when login. Like the new post. Then sometime check the forum listings. And when there is no new post, I kind of tour through the old ones. Still haven't read them all. CF
 
Ya know CF - we weathered all those months of spammers - and now that they are gone it seems like the family is splitting up. None of us wanted the spammers here - now they are gone. Maybe some of us have followed the spammers or something - I cannot figure it out for beans.

And if I don't shake this flu soon I am going to die - can't do anything - can't even hold myself up.
 
Mama, sorry you are so sick. I have been missing you. Will put you on our prayer list for sure.
I know we get lots of guest coming to the forum, but not to many of the members. I haven't a clue where we have all gone. Y'all come back, now ya hear. set a spell and tell us what you been doing. CF

Seems like nothing has gone right for me since mom passed.
I can't believe the fact that we have been deserted!
Oh well - looks like it's just you and me kid!
