Where'd this dude go to? Is he (she?) one of the ones who screwed-up and got ran-off last weekend? A couple other fairly new members appear to no longer be posting either... Were they casualties, too? Man, I wish I'd been here to witness it all! :confused:
 
I think hat BD is just a NEW kind of spammer - hit hard, play the game for a bit, and take off.

More recipes would have been bertter - but then again - that's my opinion.

Besides - as soon as I saw the name - I just knew something was up.

Odd he or she didnt stick around long after they found out not many of you are Food Network fans.
 
I've come up with an even better name - better than intruders -

people like this are disruptors - they try to throw a monkey-wrench into something working very well.
 
All that person is is a promoter. They go around to sites that fit the criteria and post the same keywords over and over to try to get some kind of buzz going. In this instance, it was for Big Daddies show, or as he put it in just about EVERY thread he posted in:

"Aaron McCargo Jr.,"

with a tagline something like this every time:

"winner of this season's Next Food Network Star".

Say it over and over enough, and these people believe that the Internet will grant them fame and fortune. Notice how the name is always punctuated the same way, along with any titles? I mean, me and you in normal conversation here would just say "That Aaron guy from the food network reality show" or some other such thing rather than "Aaron McCargo Jr., the winner of this season's Next Food Network Star" making sure we capitalize corporate logos etc..

And I don't care how much I love a chef, I mean, if I was a huge Emeril fan, the last thing I am going to do is call myself Emeril and make my avatar a pic of the man himself.

It is all a lame attempt at hype and once he figured out that we were on to him, he shuffled away.
 
Yeah- I think you're right Jafo... and I agree with your early assessment that this dude may in fact HAVE BEEN "Aaron McCargo Jr." Or at the very least- his mama... or his girlfriend! Or his low-budget agent!
 
This thread was started before I joined, so I KNOW that it can't be about me.

I never knew that it was a joke.

This thread obviously got started long before I joined here. if there was a member here by the name of Big Daddy before me, I don't know.

DUDE- Clearly your start date was in AUGUST and the thread date is SEPT 6. You get that, right? You're not askin' me to be stupid for you, are ya?
 
Maybe if we phrase it this way:

As a fan of Aaron McCargo Jr., the winner of this season's Next Food Network Star, surely you understand this post was created AFTER you registered right?
 
mama? Have you exercised your authority and deleted posts from this thread at all? If so- more power to ya! I ask however, because I have read and re-read thru all and it just seems I'm missing something. Am I the only one confused and bumfuddled?
 
heck no - unless hyou're blonde like me - than it's a good excuse/reason -

but I am beginning to think that it's time for BD to move on to a more "conversational" site and let us recipe sharing folk do our own thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
