Last movie you've watched

The last movie I saw in the theatre was "The Break-Up." I didn't hate it, but I didn't go into it expecting a laugh-a-minute kind of movie, y'know?

the last movie I saw on cable/rental was Brokeback Mountain. I didn't have trouble with the movie subject matter, but actually couldn't tell what the heck they were saying half the time (they mumbled so much! with heavy accents!) and the other half of the time, the movie was so dark I couldn't see what was going on. It seemed like a good movie, but I was a bit frustrated.

I heard The Break Up was only OK, so I decided to wait for the DVD. It's too bad, because the premise seemed like a good one.

Oh well.

I think we're going to see Superman Returns again this weekend, this time on the IMAX. I hear the airplane scene is awesome viewed that way.

Oh and someone was mentioning commercials. Am I the only one who's truly annoyed by the commercials you have to sit through before a movie in the theater these days?

No you are not the only one!! You sit in a theater (and sometimes it is not comfortable) and you have an extra 1/2 hour of previews before the movie starts. They should put them at the end of the movie - but they know that everyone will walk out.

I have noticed that some DVD's now have several previews on them. And one in particular has previews of some pretty nasty scenes! I tried to fast forward through them - and it won't work. They shouldn't be showing dirty scenes of previews on PG movies!

i watched failure to launch tonight, it was very funny. i highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Failure to Launch was OK; the sum of the parts was better then the whole IMO. Not a terrific movie, but it had some classic funny moments.

I went to see The Devil Wears Prada a week or so ago, and I did like it. There were a couple of twists that were different than the book, which I liked better than the book.

I also went to see You, Me, and Dupree a couple of days ago. I'd recommend it - it was quite funny. I can't believe Kate Hudson just had a baby a year or so ago (maybe it was a big longer, can't remember). She looks terrific.

Very boring day today - nothing good on the boob tube so I popped in the mini-series "The Blue and The Gray"...........

Has anyone seen te older move The Apartment? I saw it last week on the Encore Love channel. It's showing again this week on the 26th in the morning in case you get the Encore channels.

I'm not really a love story person, but this movie came on after something welse I was watching. It stars Jack Lemmon, and Shirley McLaine in a story of a guy who lets out his apartments for gain in climbing the corporate ladder, and then gets involved himself. I think this movie couldn't be made today because modern movies miss the details and intricate human interactions that are in this one. You can read about The Apartment at imdb.com, but here's a true quote from there:

A rare gem, this is a blessedly adult comedy with great performances, great writing and the kind of depth hardly ever seen in the more vapid, formulaic romantic comedies of today.

The movie also stars Ray Walston (My Favorite Martian) and Fred MacMurray (My Three Sons). Yes this is an older movie but it's worth the watching.

A friend of my said she saw it the day it opened at a matinee with a girlfriend of hers and loved it so much she went for an evening show with her husband that evening.

A gem!

I love a good classic! I am so glad that they came out with DVD's and so many of the old films! I prefer them over a lot of the newer ones.

Even cable is getting boring and for those who don't have cable - it seems that local programming consists of nothing but infomercials or afternoon soaps (which I cannot stand!)

I like to watch CSI, NCIS and CSI Miami. Sometimes 24, Bones and 48 Hours. I miss some of the weeklys like Murder She Wrote, Beauty and the Beast, even some of the old westerns. I would love to see High Chapparal again - even Adventures in Paradise with Gardner McKay! But I've got a pretty good collection on DVD so when there is nothing on or it's another re-run on the weeklys - I can watch John Wayne movies, old war movies, old cowboy pictures and some of the great classics they will never be able to duplicate - Gone With the Wind, etc. Some movies will just not be the same if they try to make them over!

For a pick-me-up there is always Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis, Laurel and Hardy, East Side Kids, Abbott and Costello - and even the old cartoons!! DVD's were a great invention!

And don't forget all those old spooky movies (usually black and whites) from the 30's to the 50's on a stormy night!! Or a good Alfred Hitchcock mystery.

Best part - NO COMMERCIALS - and you can stop the film to make a cup of tea or grab a book or some knitting or even take a call and not miss anything!

:p

24. Now that is a good show. I cant wait until it comes back on. I cant get enough of that show.

I've never really watched 24 but a lot of people I know are addicted to it.

We watch a lot of TV series at home on DVD actually. Most are sitcoms though, just something to have a good laugh while lounging in the evening. We have a bunch of Friends and Seinfeld that we've bought over the last few years, and I'm in the process of Netflixing old episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond.

I was just reading about the Miami Vice movie that comes out this weekend. Are there any movies being made anymore that are not:

1. Sequels
2. Remakes
3. TV shows

Hollywood seems to be fresh out of new ideas!

Last movie I watched was this weekend on HBO, Must Love Dogs...it was pretty good and funny to.

I've been meaning to netflix that one. I heard it was a total chick flick, so I should give it a look-see at least.

We'll probably go see Talladega Nights this weekend. It's probably dumb but it looks funny and who can't use a good laugh?

I can't watch scary movies. They make me want to sleep with the lights on.

It's silly, I know, but I know that I'm that way, so I don't watch them.

Like that recent movie When a Stranger Calls, where the babysitter kept getting weird phone calls and when they were traced, it turned out the person was IN THE HOUSE????

Yikes, I'm never watching that one!

I enjoy a good horror flick - but - I enjoy all the old ones - Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff and Vincent Price. I even enjoy the old B & W's from the 50's. I do not like total gore - I cannot handle Texas Chainsaw movies (watched the frist 5 minutes and that was it for me) and I cannot handle Hellraiser movies or Hannibal (or whatever) movies.

Because I was such a workaholic I have never seen Psycho until about 15 years ago. Sure - she gets killed in the shower scene - big deal. Yeah - until I saw it! Scared the crap outta me! Jaws got to me too - I looked for sharks wherever there was water. But it is a very good movie. Halloween scared the crap out of me - he wouldn't die! But I did like it.

I'm not into the Jason and Freddie movies - cripe - I'd rather watch Godzilla movies where none of the lips match the voices! Red Rose was good. Stephen King is good.

The old B & W movie - Night of the Living Dead - sorry - don't like waitching them eat body parts. And not into "witch/demon/exorcist" movies. I did see the Exorcist when it first came out - and I would never want to see it again or any other movie like it.

Alfrd Hitchcock movies are good too.

I'm more of a comedy girl when it comes to movies. I just like to escape for awhile and have a good laugh.

I went to see "The Night Listener" last weekend. Robin Williams was great, as were the supporting actors. The book translated well to the big screen. If you haven't read the book, you'll be at an advantage and on the edge of your chair. I'd say it's a must-see if you enjoy thrillers. Based loosely on a real life account, BTW.

Humm the last movie I watched was Firewall w/ Harrison Ford, excellent, a must see suspensful edge of ur seat thriller.
