Not everyone likes country music- and of those who do- many don't like the oldies. But when I was a kid my uncle owned a honky tonk saloon and I remember we went there a lot. Today was Uncle Eldean's birthday and I sent him this e-mail full of You Tube links of many of those fantastic oldies from the 60's that he loved- and that I recall and love today too. Some of you will enjoy- the first several are Merle but there's also several other CLASSICS! :)

Being a gay kid raised in a redneck family I'm on odd, odd mix of Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks w/ some Dolly/Loretta/Tammy/Patsy/Reba thrown-in and of course all the FAB gay divas like Streisand, Tina, Diana, Bette, Liza and every show-tune ever sung! I know- didn't stand a damned chance, did I? Hee-Hee! :eek:

BTW I remember Stringbean from Hee-Haw. I also remember he met a very bad and sad end- killed when his home was robbed. I believe Grandpa Jones found his body- very sad...
