Soy Sauce Substitute

Soy Sauce Substitute


2 cups low sodium beef broth
2 teaspoons cider vinegar (or lemon/lime juice)
1 teaspoon molasses
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 dash black pepper
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash onion powder

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan and boil uncover until reduced to 1/2 cup. Store in refrigerator. Stir/Shake before using. (2-4 servings)

I made the Soy Sauce Substitute today and it was really very GOOD! My husband like it so much too. I am not sure if I have a gluten problem but I do know that I can't tolerate preservaties and some additives in all kinds of foods. Thank you for this recipe! I also passed it along to a relative that has problems with MSG in soy sauce. This will help expand her diet more too.:D

You're very welcomed!

I cannot eat many prepared foods - and I cannot stand MSG (which by the way is disguised by at least 2 dozen other names so that you won't know it is in what you are buying!) so I prefer all homemade.
