Stupid Tub

Good story, janie.

If it's one thing I can't stand it's folks who don't have the good sense to properly behave. And it often seems this subject is one that really brings out the dumb-azz in folks- even church-goers who seem to pride themselves on knowing how to behave better than some... (or dare I say- especially...?)

I respect folks' beliefs- even if they differ from mine- but the moment my beliefs prevent others from equality, freedom or plain old proper behavior- I expect to be called on it. And visa-versa... someone tries to deny me mine- and I'm gonna BITE BACK- and bite HARD!

I ain't got it in me to be sent to the back of no bus. And if that unwillingness interferes w/ someone's religious beliefs- then they best just keep'em to themselves. Ain't nobody got the freedom for their religion to deny someone else basic rights. It's taking society a long while to do what is right and correct... but like all equality that for whatever reason seems to have taken a wee-bit too long to rise to the surface in this country- it's coming.

In the meantime I just sit back and for the most-part, bite my lip. But I definitely understand how/why some folks have gotten fed-up with bitin' their lip and refuse to hold back any longer...

I'm all for folks just mindin' their own busniess and lettin' people be. It's a big, big world and there's room enuf for us all. I can't imagine anything more boring than sittin' at a table with a dozen others exactly like myself anyhow. This IS Spice Place, afterall- and VARIETY is the spice of life! I kinda LIKE the fact that we're all a bit diff'rent!

Anyway... no one ever said the world at large was as brilliant and level-headed as those of us here at Spice Place! If they were, the world'd be a perfect place to be- Ha!

Well that solvent the guy sprayed to get the bathtub fixture loose so he could change it has neutralized the adhesive in the patches that were in the tub itself. First the stickers over the patches came off and now the patches themself have come loose and fallen off. Had to be that stuff he sprayed because the patches had been in there for like three years and been fine til he sprayed that stuff.
So the biggest crack is in the side of the tub towards the sink. I hung a garbage bag over it and Jon and I both took showers yesterday. No bubble baths for me til it is fixed. Our landlord works late right now while it is tax season so I called him a minute ago and told him what was up. He said he was gonna send a guy up Mon. I told him goodluck but this was not going to be able to be taken care of with a patch. Stupid cheap tub is gonna have to be replaced. Im curious to see when they take that out if there is mold under there.

They had a guy out of Lexington patch the hole in the tub and put a new bottom into it. Well that was about 6-8 weeks ago and of couse it didnt hold. The hole broke again and the thing he put into the bottom is moving around in spots and there are more cracks. I called the landlord and told him. I said I assume you got a warranty for atleast a little while. He goes oh I dont know...I need to check the paperwork. Even I would have made sure that guys work was under warranty for atleast a little while! They paid $800 bucks for him to come do what he did last time.
