Where do you serve from? Counter? Table??

Depends on what we're having and how much room it takes up. If we just have another couple or 2 over and have a casserole/lasagna or something in just one dish, I'll put it on the table.

For a holiday meal where we have a ton of dishes, I have no choice but to put it on the counter.

When it's just the 2 of us I generally just serve our plates and leave the food on the stove. I do agree that you eat less if the food is not served family style.

We leave it actually on the stove. This way it doesn't clutter the table and there aren't any spills on the table. Plus it makes your really think if you want seconds or not when you have to walk to the kitchen to serve yourself.

We have family dinners so everyone gets around the dinner table and we all dig in

I serve from the stovetop/countertop. We're terrible and don't eat at the table very often, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense for us to serve from the table.

When I grew up we always set the table and brought the food to the table to be served and enjoyed. Today however we serve our meals from the counter or the stove top. It is just two of us and we generally eat in front of the television. We have a really nice dining room table and we only seem to use it when we have company or a really messy meal such as crabs, shrimp, pho soup.

We only have a small home, so we just make use of the space we have. If we are gathered around the table we usually place all the food we have except for dessert on the table itself. But when we are few in the house we usually opt to serve directly from the stove so that we wouldn't have to wash many dishes.
