Hi, how are you? I wanted to invite you to my new cooking forum too :)

Ya Salam Kitchen
Hi Annie, how delighted I was to see your a member of the spice place. I just joined the site today. Annie, I look forward to reading your posts, and checking out the recipes you'll be posting, as you always post something quite delish. Take care Annie, and happy posting!
Whats the Most random thing you've ever cooked?

The most random thing Ive ever cooked is corned beef with pink salmon. Now

I thnk I have a pretty gd idea about what you're gonna say, but in essence it

actually tasted really gd. The reason why I say it tasted pretty gd is

because I made it southern style; which mean I threw the fridge at it. I put

some baked beans, bbq sauce, ketchup, sugar ( gots to have the sugar lol!)

and some baked beans along with a random assortment of ingredients and

things that had no buisness being in that recipe, but for some mysteriously

random reason the food jus came out perfectly. So what's Your random

cooking miracle?:D
can You use sugar free pudding mix in the receipes (Pudding Chip Cookies) instead of reg instant pudding what would be the results why do I have a problem trying to find the correct place to ask a ?

well the chocolate carrot bread has been consumed but the choc chips sound good also the ones who ate it said it tasted more like a brownie but should have a little more frosting. I will make it again thank you for all your information
Hey, Mama....I hope you're in tip top shape and doing well. I've got a problem. I've moved several times and have lost my recipes over the years. A few years ago I had a recipe for White Chili using ground pork or ground turkey or ground chicken. It included: white kidney beans, navy beans, garbanzo beans, white shoepeg corn, canned green chiles, chicken broth, wild rice, cumin and a few other other unremembered ingredients. I've searched just about all of Google and Spice Place forums for this recipe. I've found similar but nothing with all of my remembered ingredients. I could make up my own White Chili recipe I suppose but I'm not sure about the amounts of each ingredient to add in order to make the recipe balanced. Do you have a recipe like this anywhere? Would appreciate your help. TIA....Bonnie
A little about me:
I am a chef in training; started going for a cooking degree in the winter of 2008-although it didnt start that way. started out with robotics, building underwater ROV's and competing in the MATE competitions. we would show off our projects every year at fair and get awards for essays ect. I have been homeschooled since 6 when i got adopted. went through the running start program third year into high school and at the end of high school I learned i wanted to Become a shef. I love cooking and have a great deal of passion for learning new things about it...and everything else lol. I am an upbeat person and everyone says I dont look/act my age but thats over rated. It use to be my dream to become an Iron Chef and maybe someday i will become one. Who knows? Anyways thats not everything but...it would make this way longer so yeah haha.
Welcome everyone...im still new on this myself so yeah enjoy and have fun!
School starts in a week and one day...sadly i will not be doing cooking classes because they want me to get academics outta the way...but i will be doing lots of cooking for dinner after i get back if im not busy wworking those days lol xp
Sent you a friend request. I feel like I know you after being on this forum for awhile.
you say you cheched the oven temp - hopefully with an oven thermometer
how did you test the cake for doneness - toothpick or finger press? toothpick works better than fingertips on these cakes

aluminum should not effect it at all - unless you used a very deep aluminum pan

once cooled, you cannot re-bake
the other day I went to bake carrot bread and instead of using my regular baking pans I went and used the aluminum foil baking pans (the throw away kind) I greased and floured like the receipe said but when I was done baking I tested the breads and they tested done let them sit and then noticed that they sunk in the middle also after they cooled I went to cut them and they were still not quite baked in the center. I was wondering what could have caused this (checked the over temp it was Ok) also I was wondering if I maybe should have baked it a little longer even though it tested done? Is there a big difference in using aluminum pans then regular pans? (Arlene) also can you put them back in the oven once they are cooled?
Hello Cathy -
I know how to ban someone for admin - but I will have to check on how to do this - I do not want you to be unable to post for any reason.
As far as the job goes - I wish you the very best.
Please know that I will certainly miss you while you are away and I hope you get back to us soon!
Good luck and I will work on this for you!
