Dinner Rolls II Ingredients
- 2 1/2 tsp dry yeast
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup hot mashed potatoes
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk, scalded
- 1 egg
- 4 to 4 1/2 cups flour
To Make Dinner Rolls II
- Soften yeast in warm water.
- Combine potatoes, butter, sugar, salt and hot milk.
- Cool to lukewarm.
- Add softened yeast and egg.
- Stir in 2 cups flour, beat well.
- Stir in remaining flour to make a soft dough.
- Knead lightly.
- Cover, and let rise until double in bulk.
- Punch down and let rest 10 minutes then shape into desired shape and let rise again.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400° F.
