English Muffin Loaf Ingredients
- 4 1/2 tsp dry yeast
- 6 cups flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup water
- Cornmeal
To make English Muffin Loaf
- Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, sea salt and baking soda.
- Heat liquids until very warm. Add to dry mixture, beat well. Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
- Spoon English Muffin Loaf dough into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal.
- Sprinkle tops of English Muffin Loaves with cornmeal.
- Cover with a damp cloth, andlet rise in warm place for 45 minutes.
- Bake at 400° F. for 25 minutes.
- Remove English Muffin Loaves from pans immediately and cool.
To serve: Slice English Muffin Loaf and toast. Makes 16 slices of English Muffin Loaf per batch.
