Recipe: Farmers Wifes Oatmeal Cookies

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 cups oatmeal
- 12 oz Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips
- Cream margarine and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Add flour, wheat germ, salt, and soda. Beat well.
- Add 3 cups oatmeal and Ghirardelli chocolate chips. Mix well.
- Drop by tablespoonful on cookie sheets.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes in a 350° F. preheated oven.
Makes about 3 dozen large cookies.
