Hey CAG - this one's for you -

Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey Ice Cream


¾ cup dark chocolate chunks
2 large eggs
¾ cup sugar
2 cups heavy cream, or whipping cream
1 cup milk
2 tspn vanilla extract
walnuts, optional
2 bananas, overripe
juice of 1 lemon

Place the chocolate chunks in a bowl, cover and refrigerate.

Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes.

Whisk in the sugar, a little at a time, then continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute more.

Pour in the cream and milk, and whisk to blend. Add the vanilla and whisk to blend again.

Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer's directions.

Mash the bananas in a bowl, add the lemon juice, and whisk until smooth.

After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 minutes before it is done), add the banana mixture, chocolate chunks, and walnuts, then continue freezing until done.

Makes 1 quart

Mama is sufferin' from brain farts!

My fav place to shop locally is the Kroger's where the majority of the baggers are wonderful folks with challenged aptitudes. I'm nearly always pleased with their performance, and always pleased with their intent of quick helpful friendliness.

I hate those self check things.
It never fails on their most busy day they only have a few lanes open and everyone in my lane is writing a check and taking the time to balance their account before moving their rear. I know women do most of the shopping but they are THE worst to do that! It is so freakin rude in my book.
I have taken an entire bag of groceries back to the store before and made them refund my money. One time a bagboy did such a horrible job everything in the bag was ruined and it was that grocery store here in town.
I was buying Edy's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream Kevin. It is my weakness and one of the only kinds of icecream I can eat without getting sick.
Speaking of chubby I was at the bank and the teller asked Jon if I was a good cook. He pats his 6 months pregnant belly and says exhibit A lol.

HILARIOUS, janie! A walloping belly never lies... Where there's a big belly there's a good cook not far away! Speaking of big bellies- a fav quote:
