Hi Cheri- and welcome! We're a fine group of cooks, from all backgrounds and all types of experience. And there's no right or wrong- just post away! We love recipes and foods/cooking of all kinds.

What foods do you enjoy? What are your specialties? What foods and cooking styles do you know lots about- and what types would you like to know more about?

The best thing about cooking is- one can never know it all! And everyone who cooks- no matter how long or in what venue- has something to share and teach that the rest of us don't yet know!

I cooked professionally for years at hotels, resorts, country clubs and oil camps in Alaska... I have lotsa know how, but there's also TONS I don't yet know. I've learned many things from every single person who contributes here.

You've happened onto a wonderful place- full of wonderful, knowledgable, kind & generous folks! :)

My husband is from Chile and his mother is Hungarian. So, I cook both. I have difficulty purchasing prepared food and going to fast food restaurants for lunch-too much money for usually inadequate food. Tonight we are having chicken with asparagus.

olive oil
8 pieces chicken cut ups
salt and pepper to taste
2 cans asparagus
1-2 cups water, depends
couple tbs of flour
2 lemons
Cooked basmati rice

Brown chicken in oil. Add the asparagus with the liquid. Bring to boil. Mix some of the asparagus liquid with 1 cup of water and some of flour to make a paste. Add to the chicken. Add more water and/or liquid if too thick. Let simmer for about 20 minutes. About 2 minutes out, add the lemon. Serve of the rice.

I usually serve with a simple green salad.

really easy and presents great. My food is good but my presentation really bites. I usually server family style so I do not have to worry about that kinda thing. Hope you enjoy and have a good week.

:)
