• 6 lbs hamburger
• 2 medium onions, chopped
• 4 (46oz) cans tomato juice
• 6-8 lbs potatoes, cubed
• 4 lbs carrots, cubed
• 1 bunch celery, diced
• 1/3 box barley
• 4 tbsps Worcestershire sauce
• 2 tsp salt
• pepper to taste
• 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
• 2/3 cup brown sugar

Brown hamburger and onions; drain excess fat. Add tomato juice and bring to a boil. Add vegetables and seasonings; cook 1 to 1 1/2 hours at a simmer.
