Saute onion in butter. Add potatoes and cover with water. Add bouillon and cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender. Reduce heat. Combine flour and half and half. Add to the potatoes and stir until thickened. Add 1 cup of any of the following vegetables - sauted mushrooms, sliced carrots, sliced zucchini, peas, green beans. Add salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. Continue heating. Garnish with crumbled crisp bacon.
