6 cups peeled and Granny Smith sliced apples
2 tsp McCormick Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp McCormick Ground Nutmeg
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup whipping cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp 2% milk
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 box-ready made Pillsbury fresh pie crust
1. preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2. In a large Zip-Loc bag, mix together Cinnamon, Nutmeg, flour, lemon juice, sugar and brown sugar.
3. Add sliced apples to bag, and shake until the mix coats apple slices evenly.
4. Place crust in pie tin, and evenly spread the apple mixture in the prepared pie crust.
5. Pour 1/4 whipping cream evenly over pie.
6. Place remaining crust on cutting board, and slice into strips about 3/4 inch wide.
7. Lay strips across pie leaving a tic-tac-toe lattice.
8. Dot the holes in the lattice with butter and brush top of dough with milk.
9. Place in oven, and cook for 10 mintues before reducing heat to 350 degrees.
10. Cook for an additional 30 to 40 minutes until browned to taste.
For a treat, serve with fresh vanilla ice cream.
