- 1 cup corn meal
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsps dried chopped onion
- Preheat deep fat fryer to 375 degrees
- Combine all ingredients; stir until smooth.
- Drop by tsps into deep fat fryer.
- Stir hush puppies in oil while cooking to cook evenly.
- Fry until golden brown; remove and drain on paper towel.
