Recipe: Lemon Tea Bread

Quantity 

• 1/2 cup milk
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/3 cup butter, melted
• 1 1/2 tsp fresh grated lemon peel
• 1 1/4 cups flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Glaze:

• 1/4 cup sugar
• 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1. Grease a 8 1/4 x 4 1/2" bread pan.
2. In large mixer bowl combine milk, eggs, sugar, butter, and lemon peel. Beat until well blended.
3. Add dry ingredients. Blend until mixture is smooth.
4. Gently fold in pecans.
5. Pour batter into loaf pan.
6. Bake Lemon Tea Bread at 350° F. for 45 to 50 minutes.
7. While Lemon Tea Bread is baking, prepare the glaze.
8. Place bread in pan on a wire rack to cool.
9. While the Lemon Tea Bread is still hot, slowly brush on glaze.
10. Let stand 10 minutes.
11. Remove from bread from pan and cool on rack.
