McCormick Paprika is the dried, ground pods of a sweet red pepper (Capsicum annuum L). Paprika is sensitive to heat, so add near the end of cooking. Widely used for coloring alone (such as on deviled eggs or hash brown potatoes) paprika's flavor is slight. Use paprika to aid browning in microwave ovens.
Most Paprika is mild and slightly sweet in flavor with a pleasant, fragrant aroma. Hungarian Paprika has a distinctive nip and a medium color value. Spanish Paprika is sweet with no heat at all.
