1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp freshly ground cloves
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Combine sugar, shortening and egg. Sift flour, salt, cinnamon and cloves and add alternately with the applesauce and baking soda to the sugar mixture. Add raisins and nuts. Bake in bundt pan at 350° F for approximately 1 hour.
