1 lb top round steak, cut into 3/4 in cubes
1 lb lean ground beef*
2 to 4 tbsp McCormick Chili Powder
1/2 to 1/2 tsp McCormick Cayenne Pepper (HOT)
1 large onion finely chopped
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatos
1 can red kidney beans, drained (if desired)
1. In a 3 quart pan cook onion until transparent.
2. Add round steak, and ground beef, and cook until beginning to brown.
3. Drain off any fat.
4. Add the tomatoes, and mix in well.
5. Add the Chili Powder, and stir well
6. Cover and cook for at least 1/2 hour, adding small amount of water (or beer) if needed.
7. Add kidney beans (if desired) and cook an additional 10 minutes.
7. Add Cayenne Pepper to taste (or have a hot sauce, such as Tabasco, at the table)
Serve with corn bread.
May serve with cooked spaghetti noodles, additional fresh fine chopped onion, and grated chedar cheese if desired.
* Can substitute 1 lb lean ground turkey, chicken, or pork for ground beef (or mix 50/50 turkey and beef)
