1 whole chicken cut up
1 tsp pepper
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 tsp saffron
1/2 tsp dried thyme leaf
1 cup raisins
1 cup sliced blanched almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1. Sprinkle chicken with pepper.
2. Melt butter in medium shallow baking pan in oven and place chicken in pan.
3. Mix chicken broth, saffron, thyme, raisins and almonds; pour over chicken.
4. Bake uncovered for 45 mins.
5. Turn chicken and bake 30 mins longer, or until chicken is tender.
Serve with hot cooked rice.
